En las novelas de Dostoyevski, los niños y los adolescentes suelen tener un papel torturado. La propia infancia del escritor, plagada de experiencias difíciles, le servía de modelo para considerarla una etapa de la vida marcada por la infelicidad. El protagonista de El pequeño héroe es sin embargo una excepción. Es verano, en una fiesta llena de diversiones y pasatiempos: cabalgatas por el campo, excursiones por el bosque o por el río, paseos, comidas al aire libre, cenas en la terraza llena de flores aromáticas, música, danza, teatro, todo tipo de juegos y ocurrencias, risas. Nos rodea un paisaje alegre y soleado, la dulce campiña rusa donde seguiremos el paso de niño a adolescente del 'pequeño héroe', a través del nacimiento de los primeros sentimientos amorosos hacia una bella dama, pero también el dolor y la desazón. Una novela deliciosa.

The dark, fearsome Ringwraiths are searching for a Hobbit.
