Es una recopilación de historias que he escrito por más de diez años. Mi objetivo es motivarte a leerla y que, al final, puedas situarte sobre la línea que separa la realidad de la ficción. Estoy seguro que después de concluir cada uno de los cuentos de este libro, te encontrarás justo sobre esa línea que he trazado con la intención de que puedas explorar el mundo desde la realidad subjetiva de mi imaginación. Podría, en gran manera, coincidir con la realidad objetiva, pero en otros casos, podría tratarse simplemente de creatividad para el entretenimiento. Esta combinación refleja los mundos en los que vivimos: el interior y el exterior, ¿qué otro producto podría esperarse de un ser humano?

El libro Temas económicos —compilación de artículos económicos de Juan Bosch transmitidos a través de diferentes medios, como conferencias, programas de radio, periódicos— fue publicado por vez primera en dos tomos en el año 1990 por la editorial Alfa & Omega, apareciendo nuevas ediciones en los años posteriores. En 2009, la Comisión Permanente de Efemérides Patrias, en ocasión del centenario de Juan Bosch, publicó sus Obras completas, Tomo XVIII, Textos económicos, donde se reúnen en un solo libro los contenidos de los Tomos I y II de Temas económicos. La presente reedición tiene tres propósitos: 1) fortalecer la sistematización del contenido de la obra, presentando los escritos económicos bajo un nuevo ordenamiento, en función de determinados criterios; 2) incluir otros artículos económicos de Bosch que se han identificado y que no formaron parte de las ediciones anteriores; y 3) permitir que, por medio de la lectura de muchos de estos textos, el lector pueda advertir y valorar críticamente la vigencia que tiene actualmente el pensamiento económico del autor.
