Borges y Bioy Casares compartieron cincuenta años de amistad literaria, buena parte de los cuales los pasaron encerrados, escribiendo juntos. De ahí que Bustos Domecq y Suárez Lynch -los alias con que formalizan la existencia del Tercer Escritor- sean algo más que seudónimos.
