Nos contamos nuestros más oscuros y personales secretos a través de cartas y notas escondidas entre las páginas de un libro. Es divertido hasta que descubro quién es la persona del otro lado de las cartas. Un imaginario que en buena medida se forjó entre los poetas románticos ingleses y sus sucesores. Lejos de ser un género cultivado por poetas de segundo rango, nuestra selección recurre a nombres que están en la cima de su arte: se abre con dos inquietantes poemas de Shakespeare, para recorrer después las grandes aportaciones de los románticos, encontrarnos con el maestro indiscutido del género: Edgar Allan Poe; las hermanas Brontë, los espectros del recuerdo de Hardy y la feérica Irlanda de Wilde y Yeats antes de despedirnos entre la penumbra onírica de Charlotte Mew.
